The Youngsters

The Youngsters came into existence in 1999 after Olivier went into Gil's record shop in Montpellier to play him some music he was producing. Gil quickly embarked him on a string of Detroit techno-influenced EPs fora french label, G-Funk, before signing to Laurent Garnier's imprint F-Communications in 2001. Intensely prolific, they managed to release four EPs and their debut long player over the same year. LemonOrange is an awe-inspiring collection of electronic beats and win accolades from some of dancemusic's biggest names. One of the single, Smile, has also been remixed by Sasha for his album Involver and, five years later, has been choosen by the legendary fashion brand Gucci to illustrate the main advertising campaign of their new flagship in Tokyo. They've never slowed down since, pushed forward by this energy of youth, and have totally rocked thedance music scene with a heavyweight serie of hits. Their second album The Army Of 1.0., released in 2004, is a deep exploration of the music they love, drawing inspiration from jazz, ambiant, minimal andtechno music.
