After an 18 month break MYNC has returned with a bigger sound then ever. The act's front man, CR2 head honcho Mark Brown thought it time to bring back the brand, known for championing new sounds combined with mesmerizing technical wizardry, to the forefront of the dance scene and enlisting some of the CR2 family along the way.
Having mixed the hugely successful Space Ibiza annual this summer, MYNC will be releasing their brand new mix album for Cr2s 'Live And Direct' series at the end of January 2010. Productions are also on a roll with three MYNC tracks making it onto the 'Ministry Of Sound Annual 2010' plus a wealth of new remixes for the likes of Faithless, Calvin Harris and Chuckie, and a month long Australia tour over Christmas. It's self evident
MYNC ARE BACK!
As well as the 4 deck 2 mixer combo traditionally used in MYNC's trademark sets, the House music collective have incorporated an extra dimension to their performances utilizing 2 laptops and 2 Traktor Audio 8 boxes creating a live element to their shows, twisting pre recorded sounds, samples and acapellas, into the mix. So its no surprise these cutting edge skills have led to a renewed endorsement deal with number one DJ Kit manufacturer Pioneer.
THE MYNC FAMILY
If you want to know what is rocking the dance world at any given time then speak to Mark Brown. A hugely successful DJ and producer in his own right, Mark founded and continues to lead the MYNC DJ collective. As the head of CR2, one of the biggest independent dance labels in the world, Mark's A&R skills were born out of his passion for DJ-ing and his ear for a good tune has propelled Cr2 to be one of the leading labels in the world responsible for number one hits David Guetta Vs The Egg 'Love (Don't let me go)' and
Fedde Le Grande - 'Put your Hand's up for Detroit'. 2009 was a big year for Mark as a solo artist too his production 'Burnin' came out on Subliminal and his take on anthem 'Needin You' was the remix of the summer making it to number 2 on Beatport and remaining in the top ten for 8 weeks!
Producer and Engineer extraordinaire, who has made over 400 records throughout his career in the music industry, teamed up with Mark three and a half years ago. Assisting on all production elements, he has been the backbone to the MYNC reform for the past 9 months, working alongside as the act's sound engineer and producer. Heavily in demand he has produced number 1 records and worked with the likes of Joey Negro, Chicane and
X-Press2 to name a few, and there is no doubt his talent has more than spilled into the MYNC collective. Richard and Mark have worked together on numerous records including Kylie's Pacha Terrace mix of '2 Hearts', a high profile track which received much acclaim.
A&R hot shot Chris Ward has been flying within the Cr2 ranks over the past 2 years, signing hot up and coming DJ's including Pitto and Mendo, who constantly enjoy huge success on Beatport and other digital portals. For some time now Chris has been assisting Mark on his solo gigs, so the progression to work on future MYNC gigs has been a seemingly natural process. He also releases solo material, the debut single being 'The Void' due to come out in 2010.
Such a strong, highly skilled and passionate group of artists joining forces means only one thing, there is absolutely no doubt that MYNC's reformation will be something of a landmark in the dance world. Whether you're familiar with MYNC, or a newly appointed fan, you will know that they are just as at home playing in intimate underground clubs as they are performing to the clubbing elite on Ibiza's legendary Space Terrace - and what remains true to this day is that they stand for what they believe in: good, quality house music....................and you can take that to the bank.
